Dead on the Bed

Well, we had an interesting weekend, when Robert comes to visit you always do!! Finally got a role in one of his films that I think I did OK with. Remember the art piece he did where he shot my picture with a high powered rifle like 95 time? Yes, then you won't be surprised that in my role in this movie I'm dead. I did feel that my days of making myself up as dead for Halloween paid off. My deadness was subtle not over done, no blood (shucks) and of course no lines to mess up. They only thing I had trouble with was the breathing. It seemed the more takes we had the more I felt a need to breath, the more I tried not to breath the harder it got. Also I had to be carried. These were people I know, who I go to church with. They tried not to grunt when they picked me up, which I really appreciated, they never made a comment in my ear shot. so I will just pretend that I wasn't heavy.
All in all it was really interesting, realized that being a actor is not a fun as it may at first appear. So heres to all those Hollywood people who have to work so hard being something they are not. Heres to Robert and Rod for what I am sure will be another great short.

More about Bees

We all love the bee. I was made aware of how lucky we were that the bees were in the Frudden's yard and that they went away. Saw a news clip about a lady whose home was surrounded by bees they actually dive bombed her front door. She was smart enough to call a bee person who just came and knew how to collect the bees and take them away. I would have had a total freak out. So though we love the bee, love the honey, just like with with kimodo dragons, you have to keep you distance. OK Elizabeth doesn't love the bee. The End

Spring Adventure

This is a picture of bees swarming. Today we were out in the back yard, beautiful spring weather, doing yard work. Just a wonderful day. Slowly I became aware of a humming noise that got louder and louder until I asked Bruce, what is that noise? He said bees, we looked over the fence into the Frudden's yard and we saw something just like this picture. A swarm of bees. Exciting but scary. Not knowing what was going on we rushed into the house but kept our eyes on the swarm. Soon they went over the Frudden's roof and were gone. Swarming bees are normal for this time of year, they are starting a new colony, looking for a new home. Hopefully they found one a little far away from N. Mildred. It was exciting to see a natural phenomenon. Life is unpredictable, like a box of chocolate, you never know what you're going to get! I got a chocolate covered cherry today!!

Zumba and other fun things

Who would have thought I would love Zumba, yes I really do. Wednesday is Zumba day. It is funny cause you would be surprises at who comes to Zumba. Young and old, fat and skinny, rhythmic an not so, women and men. We come to shake our booties and shimmy our shoulders and get our heart rate up. I love watching the guy who comes to everything, he has no rhythm, I mean none but he doesn't let that stop him, he comes and he does it off step and off beat, he come to step circuit and Zumba and humm, does he come to pilates? can remember. Some of the best Zumbaist don't look like they would be, I think it is a latin thing cause some of us angols have all the moves but no soul, Ok and we can't shimmy. If you have a chance to Zumba go for it. Fun, fun fun.

Run Like the Wind

Hey, I can run. OK, well I can't yet run like my grandchildren, not even my kids, but I am running on the treadmill. I saw that Seth ran 7 miles. See, that just is impressive to me. I know that other of my children run like that all the time, now mi esposo is running. Sometimes he runs at home on the treadmill, is does sound like someone in there is being beat to death but nonetheless, he is running and running. I, on the other run in one or two minutes increments, but I don't let others achievement discourage me. One or two minutes will grow into more sometime, I am sure. The book I am reading reminds me to judge myself not against others but against myself, so I am feeling that my running is good. God didn't create the earth in one day, I will not create a runner in one day, one week, one month but maybe, just maybe in one year. Stay tuned!

Sundance @ Park City

A long long time ago, when we was young we skied at Park City ski slopes, little did we know nor never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be back to mosh and slush with the uppity ups. Of course there was no Sundance Film Festival back then, as a matter of fact there was barely a Sundance Ski Resort. When we started skiing it was Timpanogos Ski Resort, then Robert Redford got rich making movies and decided to buy it. But it was all the same to us, a short drive from Provo. Skiing was actually a P.E. class that you could continue to sign up for if you could get it. Park City is about 45 min. from Sundance on the back road. It is an old mining town and you know those miners, a rowdy bunch, so it was always a little rowdy itself, and a good place for a ski resort, and perfect place for a rowdy film festival. Anyway, it was a weird and wonderful experience to be there to celebrate our sons film accomplishments in the lovely snowy place we had enjoyed as young lovers.

Sadie and the Broken Bleed

I should just wait until Chelsea blogs this story but I can't wait, cause it is so cute. Chelsea, Linkin and Sadie came to visit us on Friday and Saturday, we had a great time. One things that we found so amazing was the energy Linkin has. Dad had pruned the plum trees in the backyard, the branch were all over the yard, many of them. Friday dad and Linkin worked on cutting them up and putting them in the yard waste container. We did a little Rock Band after we got back from the open house of the new gym where Linkin did at least 15 min. on the eliptical. Linkin did pretty good on both the drums and singing. He figured out on his own that he could hum along and keep the arrow thing on the line even if he didn't know the words, so he did good. Saturday after pancakes grandpa had to go to the gallery so Linkin helped me finish the cutting up of the branches, then we came in and had some lunch well we had it outside, that is when the tragedy happened. The tiles on the mosaic table have been shingling, Sadie had picked up a piece of the thin glasslike top of the tile, Linkin wanting to protect her from the danger pulled the thin sharp piece of tile away from her slicing her finger, causing it to bleed!! Her first bleeding cut or as she called it her broken bleed which when you think about it is exactly what it is. She would not be consoled. The only thing she would let happen was for a paper towel to be wrapped around her tiny finger. She held it on there all day, even during the time she was napping. No bandaid allowed, later she let Chelsea put a rubber band loosely around the paper towel. Linkin let me take a well deserved rest, "watched" Phineas and Feb while he jumped on the mini trap until mommy and Sadie woke up so we could play games on the Wii, which we did. Lots of bowling and boxing and baseball until grandpa came home and I could rest and grandpa played until it was time for them to head back to Salinas. He was courteous enough to let grandpa know "did I mention, I'm pretty good at golf." I hear from her mom that Sadie is doing much better. I also here that Linkin is getting a pretty fun gift for his birthday but don't tell, he doesn't know.

Wii is Good to Me

I already blogged about how much fun Rock Band
is, but I also want to blog about the exercise "game"
we got as well. We got the Active workout, it
comes with a strap that you store the nuncuk
when you are doing certain exercises and with
other exercises you hold it in your left hand.
I really like it. I started out with the easy
25ish min 30 day workout. It keeps track of
all your stats, is helpful and encouraging.
I don't think they realize I'm 60 even though
I told them, cause some of the stuff is, lets
say challenging BUT I am only on day 12 and
today I worked out on the treadmill. Let me
tell you I was able to do 25 min walking at a
faster pace then I have and every 3 or 4 min I
would run for a min without holding on at all.
Now for all you younguns that may seem lame
but for me it is a real step in the right direction.
So I am really a Wii fan now, not only can I rock
and roll I can run and squat, lung and box. Highly recommend.

Rock Band Rocks

Who would have ever thought that some old tooters would have so much fun rocking out to a video game? We got out Wii after Christmas but had to wait for our RockBand2 to get delivered since they were all sold out in the world. We received it yesterday afternoon, got it set up but had a few interruptions so we didn't really get rockin till 10:00 pm. Oops we rocked it out until 11:30pm then scurried off to bed but it is hard to fall asleep after rocking and rolling, but we finally fell asleep. Can't wait to get going again tonight. Life is short, rock and roll and eat dessert. That is my new motto. There will be picture later.

Happy Birthday Gift Enjoyed

Some gifts are so great that you have to rearrange the whole house. That was the way it was with my birthday gift this year from my children, a huge frame with wonderful photos of all our darling, charming, adorable grandchildren. So things were moved, walls were painted but look how great it looks. A big thanks to all our children and grandchildren, you will enjoy seeing it when you come. Love mom/grandma (I customized the mat).
